About the role#
The College of Behavioral and Community Sciences at the University of South Florida is looking for a student to support marketing and communications efforts. This Federal Work Study position offers hands-on experience in content creation, visual storytelling, and digital communications while working with the Dean’s Office team.
What you'll do#
- Create, edit, and schedule content for social media platforms.
- Draft newsletter and web content alongside other marketing materials.
- Design visual assets for social media, email, and the web using established brand guidelines.
- Monitor media coverage.
- Build and format emails and newsletters.
- Assist with promoting college events, including taking photos on-site.
- Proofread and review materials for accuracy, clarity, and consistency.
- Collaborate with the marketing and communications team on various projects.
What you'll need#
- Eligibility for the Federal Work Study program.
- Availability to work during the Fall 2026 term.
- Strong organization and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Basic editing and proofreading abilities.
- Ability to track project progress and meet deadlines.
- Initiative and a willingness to learn.
- Familiarity with AP Style, Canva, and photography is preferred.
Location & details#
- This is an on-site position located in Tampa, Florida.
- The role requires 10-20 hours per week, with a schedule that is flexible around your classes.
- Students may choose to use this position for an optional internship elective course.
- Applicants must submit a resume and three samples of work, including at least one writing sample and one graphic design sample.
