About the role#
University Enterprises, Inc. is hiring two Student Assistants to support the Retirement Readiness division. You will assist the team with scheduling benefits planning services and providing customer service to CalSTRS members through phone and online communications. This is a part-time, temporary position that offers a hybrid work schedule.
What you'll do#
- Review, enter, track, and interpret data to ensure member information is complete.
- Partner with subject matter experts to maintain quality control.
- Respond to member inquiries via phone and in writing.
- Prepare correspondence that follows the CalSTRS Style Guide.
- Analyze member records and resource materials to resolve inquiries.
- Collaborate with internal teams and participate in cross-functional improvement projects.
- Perform system testing and provide general operational support to management.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a college student at an accredited institution.
- Undergraduate students must be enrolled in at least six-semester or nine-quarter units; graduate students must be enrolled in at least four-semester or six-quarter units.
- Pursuing a degree in Business Administration, Communications, Human Resources, Sociology, Psychology, English, Political Science, Finance, Economics, or Accounting.
- Strong communication, customer service, and time-management skills.
- Ability to maintain high attention to detail and accuracy.
- Capability to work independently and within a team environment.
- Professionalism and sound judgment when interacting with the public and diverse groups of individuals.
- Must reside in California and perform all work within the state.
Location & details#
- Location: West Sacramento, California.
- Work Modality: Hybrid, with onsite days required every Tuesday and Wednesday. Telework is available on Monday, Thursday, and Friday.
- Schedule: Flexible hours between 8 AM and 5 PM, generally up to 24 hours per week during the academic year.
