About the role#
University Enterprises, Inc. is hiring two Student Assistants for part-time, hybrid internship roles. This position provides hands-on experience in entry-level technology support within a public-sector environment. You will work alongside professionals to build technical skills in troubleshooting, device setup, and systems management.
What you'll do#
- Act as a primary contact for the Client Services Help Desk, handling phone calls, walk-in requests, and support tickets.
- Create, document, assign, and distribute help desk tickets using an automated system.
- Assist customers with hardware, software, peripherals, cellular devices, laptops, and copiers.
- Help with the installation and deployment of personal computer hardware and software.
- Set up and operate audio-visual equipment for meetings and presentations.
- Maintain logs and track IT equipment rental inventory.
- Participate in the TSD student mentorship program and accurately report your work hours.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a college student at an accredited institution on the university affiliation list.
- Undergraduate students must be enrolled in at least six semester units or nine quarter units. Graduate students must be enrolled in at least four semester units or six quarter units.
- A declared major in Computer Science or a related field.
- Priority is given to individuals who are or have been a dependent child in foster care, a homeless youth, or a formerly incarcerated youth.
Location & details#
- Location: Sacramento, California.
- Work Modality: Hybrid.
- Schedule: Flexible, Monday through Friday between 8 AM and 5 PM. You may work up to 24 hours per week during the academic year and up to 40 hours during breaks.
- Employment Status: Part-time, temporary, and non-benefited.
