About the role#
The Department of Industrial Relations Creative Team is looking for a Graphic Design Student Assistant. You will support our mission by creating visual content for print and digital media. This role allows you to work on projects while collaborating with a team of professionals. You must be a student currently enrolled in an accredited college or university program.
What you'll do#
- Create graphics for print and digital platforms, including flyers, posters, and social media content.
- Edit digital content to ensure it meets branding and ADA accessibility standards.
- Brainstorm creative concepts with the team.
- Manage project timelines and meet deadlines.
- Monitor the external branding email for incoming requests.
- Conduct research and handle data entry for campaigns.
- Participate in design reviews and incorporate feedback.
- Organize and archive project files using SharePoint.
- Ensure all files are correctly exported for their intended use.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an appropriate college or university program.
- A portfolio or samples of your graphic design work.
- Proficiency in Adobe InDesign and Microsoft Office.
- Experience with typography, layout, color theory, and image resolution.
- Knowledge of accessibility standards.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to solve problems and work with attention to detail.
- Familiarity with project management tools like ServiceNow, SharePoint, and Asana.
Location & details#
- Location: Sacramento, California.
- Work Modality: On-site.
- Schedule: Monday to Friday, between 8 AM and 5 PM.
- Hours: Up to 24 hours per week during the academic year, up to 40 hours during breaks.
- Pay: $18.27 to $33.52 per hour.
