About the role#
University Enterprises, Inc. is hiring a Student Assistant to support the Health and Safety Unit within the State Controller's Office. This role focuses on documenting processes, conducting research, and supporting program activities. You will work under the direction of the Health and Safety Supervisor to gain experience in professional communication, critical thinking, and organizational management.
What you'll do#
- Provide support for special projects within the Health and Safety Unit.
- Document work processes to ensure clear record keeping.
- Assist in the research, analysis, and review of health and safety activities.
- Engage with department staff to discuss the benefits of health, safety, and wellness programs.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a college student in Business Administration, Psychology, Communications, or Public Health.
- Minimum of 12 semester or quarter units for undergraduates, or 8 semester/12 quarter units for graduate students.
- A GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- Residency in California.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Experience with purpose-driven writing and project management.
- Knowledge of public administration principles and organizational communication.

- The role follows a hybrid work schedule.
- This is a paid, part-time, temporary position.
