About the role#
University Enterprises, Inc. is hiring a Student Assistant for the Accounting Services unit. This is a part-time, temporary, and non-benefited position. You will work under close supervision in a learner capacity to support the Fiscal Services team.
What you'll do#
- Perform analytical research and support tasks for Fiscal Services.
- Learn to analyze and reconcile financial information including general ledger data, contracts, purchase orders, vendor invoices, and item master file records.
- Develop, update, and maintain spreadsheets.
- Research and analyze financial variances.
- Create reports and queries using Sage X3 and other reporting tools.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a college student at an accredited institution.
- Undergraduate students must be enrolled in at least six-semester units or nine quarter units. Graduate students must be enrolled in at least four-semester units or six quarter units.
- A declared major in Accounting, Economics, Mathematics, Finance, or other related fields.
- Ability to multi-task while maintaining accuracy.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work well within a team.
- Dependability and a willingness to perform detailed work.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
Location & details#
- This position is located in Sacramento, California.
- Work is performed on-site in an office environment.
- The schedule is flexible between Monday and Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM.
- Students generally work up to 24 hours per week during the academic year and up to 40 hours per week during academic breaks.
- You must reside and perform all work within the state of California.
