About the role#
University Enterprises, Inc. is hiring Group Fitness Cycle Instructors to work on-site at The WELL in Sacramento. This is a part-time, temporary, casual position responsible for developing and leading group exercise classes. You will work within a recreation and health facility serving students, faculty, and staff.
What you'll do#
- Lead effective group exercise classes by applying sound exercise principles.
- Monitor all activities to ensure participant safety.
- Respond to injuries and emergencies by activating the emergency action plan.
- Attend pre-semester training sessions and all-staff meetings.
- Assist in the promotion of events hosted at The WELL.
- Enforce facility policies and provide positive customer service to the campus community.
What you'll need#
- Indoor cycle instructor certification from NASM, ISSA, STAGES, Schwinn, or a professionally recognized association.
- CPR, AED, and First Aid certification (must be obtained within 30 days of hire).
- A firm grasp of exercise science.
- Ability to develop and lead group exercise classes.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Preference is given to those with a background in Kinesiology, Exercise Science, or RPTA, as well as those with previous experience in fitness or dance instruction.
Location & details#
- Location: Sacramento, California.
- Work modality: On-site.
- Schedule: Final hours are determined between the employee and supervisor, with a limit of 19.5 hours per week.
- Employment type: Part-time, temporary, non-benefited.
