About the role#
The Ideas Inspire Fellow will join the Strategic Communications Team to support community engagement, volunteerism, and content strategies. This role focuses on helping the organization connect with volunteers, corporate partners, and individual donors. Projects are assigned based on organizational needs and the specific skills and professional interests of the fellow.
What you'll do#
- Develop, edit, and proofread written materials, including presentation slides, one-pagers, and surveys.
- Create, post, and monitor social media content while researching trends, influencers, and potential partners.
- Research community partners and conduct outreach to potential Bay Area collaborators.
- Organize logistics and scheduling for volunteer opportunities and coordinate related communications.
- Provide administrative support, including the creation of department timelines, preparation of documents, and maintenance of project data and records.
- Participate in staff meetings and communicate regularly with the team regarding project activities.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in or recent graduation from a college degree program, with a preference for students or graduates of community colleges.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills with high attention to detail.
- Experience conducting both formal and informal research.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Must be 18 years or older and based in the Bay Area.
Location & details#
- Location: San Francisco, California.
- Modality: On-site, with the ability to attend 3-5 in-person events per month.
- Status: Full-time or part-time options available, with a rolling start date.
- Compensation: This is a paid position.
