About the role#

Sylvan Veterinary Hospital offers a clinical externship for current veterinary students to gain hands-on experience in a hybrid general practice and emergency setting. This role is designed to help students bridge the gap between classroom learning and real-world patient care while working alongside experienced veterinarians and support staff.

What you'll do#

• Actively participate in clinical cases to build your skills as a future veterinarian.
• Gain exposure to surgical cases, dental procedures, and emergency care.
• Assist with routine medical appointments and sick patient workups.
• Discuss cases with your supervising veterinarian and verify exam findings to ensure accurate diagnosis and treatment planning.

What you'll need#

• Must be a current student at an AVMA-accredited veterinary school.
• Priority is given to students in their clinical years (3rd or 4th year) completing official externship blocks for school credit.
• Must provide proof of professional liability insurance.
