Veterinary Student Externship- Pets and Vets as Partners

About the role#

United Veterinary Care hosts veterinary students for clinical externships at Pets and Vets as Partners in West Lafayette, Indiana. This program allows students to apply classroom knowledge in a real-world hospital setting. You will work alongside a team that provides comprehensive dental, medical, surgical, and wellness care to the local community.

What you'll do#

• Engage in hands-on patient care across general practice, emergency, and specialty settings.
• Participate in clinical case discussions and collaborative problem-solving.
• Gain mentorship and build confidence in your clinical skills.
• Share your specific learning goals at the start of your rotation to tailor your experience.

What you'll need#

• Must be a current student at an AVMA-accredited veterinary school.
• Priority is given to students in their clinical years (3rd or 4th year) completing official externship blocks for school credit.
• Must provide proof of professional liability insurance.

• Compensation: This is a paid position with stipends available to offset travel and lodging costs, provided this is not prohibited by your veterinary school.
