About the role#
Boca Park Animal Hospital offers clinical externships for veterinary students looking to gain hands-on experience in a full-service general practice, urgent care, and surgical setting. Students work alongside experienced veterinarians and support staff to apply classroom knowledge in a real-world hospital environment. This role is designed to build clinical confidence through active participation in a variety of medical cases.
What you'll do#
- Participate in case discussions and collaborative problem-solving with the medical team.
- Engage in hands-on patient care across general practice, emergency, and specialty settings.
- Assist with surgical cases, dental procedures, emergencies, and routine medical appointments.
- Review exam findings and treatment plans with supervising veterinarians to refine clinical decision-making skills.
What you'll need#
- Must be a current veterinary student at an AVMA-accredited veterinary school.
- Priority is given to students in their clinical years (3rd or 4th year) completing official externship blocks for school credit.
- Must provide proof of professional liability insurance. SAVMA members may qualify for no-cost insurance.
