About the role#
We are looking for a Sales Intern to join our Des Moines branch. This is a full-time, paid internship designed to help you learn the sales process through hands-on experience. You will spend time with both inside and outside sales teams, focusing on customer service. The goal is for you to gain industry knowledge and skills to prepare for a potential role as a Sales Associate after graduation.
What you'll do#
- Participate in safety training and follow all safety policies.
- Support branch operations in the yard, including equipment check-in and washing.
- Assist customers with their needs.
- Shadow inside and outside sales staff to understand their daily responsibilities.
- Complete training on systems like RentalMan and Salesforce.
- Attend departmental meetings, ride-alongs, work sessions, and conference calls.
- Handle other duties as assigned.
What you'll need#
- You must be currently pursuing a BA or BS degree in sales, business administration, marketing, or a related field.
- Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Experience with presentations and financial analysis.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to manage multiple projects at the same time.
- A self-motivated approach with a strong sense of urgency.
- Prior relevant work experience is preferred.
