    About the role#

    As an Intern Diesel Mechanic, you will gain hands-on experience with the equipment United Rentals provides. This role is designed for students currently pursuing a technical degree or certification who are interested in building a career in the mechanical, automotive, or diesel fields. You will support branch operations while working alongside experienced mechanics to prepare for potential future service technician roles.

    What you'll do#

    • Learn the various types of equipment in the rental fleet and their specific applications.
    • Perform manual and maintenance tasks to support daily branch operations.
    • Provide labor assistance to seasoned mechanics during equipment service.
    • Deliver exceptional customer service to clients.

    What you'll need#

    • High school diploma or GED.
    • Currently pursuing a technical degree or certification in Mechanical, Industrial, or Electrical Engineering or related fields.
    • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
    • Strong mechanical aptitude and foundational knowledge of tools and equipment.
    • Self-motivated, with a strong sense of urgency.
    • Superior communication, teamwork, and customer service skills.
