Intern Diesel Mechanic

About the role#

As a Service Technician Intern, you will gain hands-on experience with the wide variety of equipment United Rentals provides. This position is designed to support branch operations through manual and maintenance tasks while providing direct assistance to experienced mechanics. This role offers the opportunity to develop your mechanical skills and work toward a full-time service technician position upon completion of your degree or certification.

What you'll do#

• Learn the various types of equipment in the fleet and their specific applications.
• Perform manual and maintenance tasks to support daily branch operations.
• Provide labor assistance to seasoned mechanics.
• Challenge yourself to improve your technical proficiency every day.
• Work toward transitioning into service technician roles upon receipt of your degree or certification.

What you'll need#

• High school diploma or GED and current enrollment in a technical degree or certification program.
• Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and foundational knowledge of tools and equipment.
• Self-motivated approach with a strong drive and sense of urgency.
• Superior customer service, teamwork, and verbal and written communication skills.
