Intern Diesel Mechanic

About the role#

As an Intern Diesel Mechanic, you will gain hands-on experience with the various types of equipment United Rentals provides and understand their practical applications. This role is designed to support branch operations through both manual and maintenance tasks while providing direct labor assistance to seasoned mechanics. You will have the opportunity to challenge yourself daily, with the potential to transition into service technician roles within the Service Department upon completing your degree or certification.

What you'll do#

• Learn the operational applications of rental equipment.
• Perform manual and maintenance tasks to support daily branch operations.
• Assist experienced mechanics with equipment service and repairs.
• Provide exceptional customer service to support the team.

What you'll need#

• High school diploma or GED.
• Currently pursuing a technical degree or certification.
• Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and foundational knowledge of tools and equipment.
• Self-motivated mindset with a sense of urgency.
• Strong teamwork, communication, and customer service skills.
