Data Analytics & Report Intern

About the role#

The Data Analytics & Report Intern supports the Loan Operations department at Union Bank & Trust. This role provides hands-on exposure to enterprise loan operations within a financial institution, focusing on performance reporting, data analysis, and process optimization. You will work with leadership to support dashboards, KPI tracking, and operational reporting that drives decision-making and efficiency across the lending lifecycle.

What you'll do#

• Support the development, maintenance, and enhancement of Loan Operations reports, dashboards, and scorecards tracking production, quality, and service levels.
• Extract, compile, and analyze data from loan systems, reporting platforms, and internal databases to identify trends, anomalies, and performance insights.
• Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs), service level agreements (SLAs), and operational metrics across loan processing, servicing, and review functions.
• Partner with Loan Operations leadership to gather reporting requirements and translate business needs into structured data outputs and visual reporting tools.
• Contribute to the design and development of automated and interactive dashboards to improve real-time visibility into operational performance.

What you'll need#

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Data Analytics, Information Systems, Economics, or a related field.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including formulas, pivot tables, and data organization.
• Basic understanding of data analysis concepts, reporting techniques, and data validation practices.
• Interest in banking, lending, or financial services operations.
• Familiarity with relational data concepts, such as SQL basics, or reporting tools is a plus.
