Commercial Business Banking Intern (Summer)

About the role#

This summer internship provides hands-on experience in commercial banking and corporate finance. You will work alongside experienced bankers to gain insight into credit analysis, financial modeling, loan structuring, and client relationship management. The program is designed to offer exposure to senior leadership and client-facing opportunities, as well as professional development and mentorship.

What you'll do#

• Assist in analyzing financial statements and key ratios.
• Support relationship managers in managing client portfolios and conducting industry and market research.
• Participate in client meetings and internal strategy sessions.
• Prepare reports, presentations, and other documentation for internal and external use.
• Learn the fundamentals of commercial lending, risk assessment, and compliance regulations.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including credit, treasury management, and operations.
• Adhere to bank policies, laws, and regulations, and complete required compliance training.

What you'll need#

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or a related field.
• Previous internship experience or relevant coursework in finance or banking.
• Familiarity with financial statement analysis or credit underwriting.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and maintain high discretion with confidential information.
• Interest in commercial banking and client relationship management.
