Applications Developer Intern

About the role#

Union Bank & Trust is seeking an Applications Developer Intern for the Summer 2026 term. This role focuses on applying programming principles to analyze and implement system improvements for existing applications while contributing to the design of new systems. You will work within a team environment to support the full development lifecycle, including planning, testing, and documentation.

What you'll do#

• Assist in the analysis, development, and maintenance of approved projects.
• Design and write unit tests to ensure application quality.
• Collaborate with support and documentation teams to create technical and user training manuals.
• Implement secure coding techniques in alignment with technical reference architecture.
• Adhere to all bank policies, laws, and regulations, reporting any compliance issues through established channels.
• Work within a defined Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) using Agile methodologies.

What you'll need#

• Strong interest in application design and implementation.
• 1+ years of programming experience in languages such as .NET, C#, SQL, JavaScript/TypeScript, CSS/SCSS, Angular, Bootstrap, Kendo UI, or OAuth/OpenID Connect.
• 1+ years of experience with Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) concepts and design.
• Basic software and hardware problem-solving abilities.
• Experience with Version Control (Git), REST service creation, CI/CD, and data integration is preferred.
• Ability to multitask, prioritize projects, and communicate effectively.
• Valid Nebraska Driver’s License.
