Ag Loans Intern

About the role#

The Ag Loans Intern will gain exposure to the responsibilities of a Relationship Assistant, Ag Loan Officer, and Credit Analyst. This role focuses on learning the full lifecycle of a loan transaction, from application through closing, while supporting the wholesale loan operations and ag loan departments.

What you'll do#

• Perform credit analysis on loans, including financial worksheets and tax returns, for both standard and complex loan files.
• Collaborate with loan assistants to generate accurate loan documentation, ensure proper file maintenance, and manage customer follow-ups.
• Participate in loan committee meetings to observe the decision-making process.
• Assist with operational projects across the wholesale loan and ag loan departments.
• Verify real estate tax status via phone or online to ensure accounts are current and update internal tracking systems.
• Visit farming operations, perform feedlot inspections, and travel to outstate branches.
• Represent the bank at local community activities and volunteer events.
• Complete all required compliance training and adhere to bank policies and regulations.

What you'll need#

• Current pursuit of a degree in Finance or Business Administration.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office products and experience with bank-specific software.
• Strong organizational skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and take initiative.
• Effective communication skills and the ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
• Ability to meet deadlines and manage time efficiently.
