About the role#
The Media and Communications Intern supports the Communications Group within the Bureau of External Relations and Advocacy. This role helps the team track global development issues, manage media outreach, and implement communication campaigns. You will work in a remote capacity to assist with the daily operations of a large international organization.
What you'll do#
- Research and analyze information on specific topics while gathering data from various sources.
- Assess news value and potential impacts of current events.
- Help implement communications campaigns and propose new outreach activities.
- Assist with the organization of press conferences.
- Monitor media coverage and prepare daily news compilations.
- Maintain and update media and subscription mailing lists.
- Perform other administrative tasks as needed.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a graduate program, the final year of a bachelor's degree, or graduation within the last year.
- Strong writing and editing skills.
- Ability to multitask and handle organizational tasks with high attention to detail.
- Interest in global issues and the work of the United Nations.
- Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment with awareness of political sensitivities.
- A responsible and enthusiastic approach to your work.
- Previous experience in media or communications is a plus.
- Relevant academic backgrounds include Communications, Media Studies, Journalism, Political Science, or International Relations.

- This is a full-time, paid internship.
