About the role#
The Global Health Communications Intern contributes to storytelling and information sharing to support the UN Foundation's global health initiatives. This role covers issues including pandemic preparedness, infectious disease surveillance, and efforts to eradicate polio and malaria. You will work with the Global Health, Public Affairs, and campaign teams to communicate the value of multilateral collaboration.
What you'll do#
- Draft communications materials such as blogs and social media posts.
- Develop content for a webpage highlighting the UN Foundation Polio Press Fellowship.
- Track the performance of global health content.
- Assist with the creation and dissemination of the Unite for Health newsletter.
- Support communications activities for global health moments and observance days, including the UN General Assembly.
- Manage photography, video, and social media assets for polio and malaria eradication advocacy.
- Assist with video production and editing for social media platforms.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a degree-granting program or status as a recent graduate of an accredited college or university.
- Communications and public relations skills, including experience with email newsletter management, web design, video editing, and graphic design.
- Ability to write engaging content for both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Personal laptop computer and access to the internet.
- Availability to work 20 hours per week on a fixed schedule.
- Spanish language proficiency is preferred.
- Majors in Communications, Public Health, Journalism, Health Administration, or International Relations are relevant to this role.
