About the role#
The Truist Risk Internship Program is a 10-week summer experience. It introduces you to risk management through project work, structured learning, and exposure to the Risk Management Organization. You will be placed in a specific area such as Compliance Risk, Financial Crimes, Information Risk, or Enterprise and Operational Risk Management based on business needs. This role provides a view of how a financial institution manages uncertainty and makes business decisions.
What you'll do#
- Complete all required internship training, learning activities, and assigned deliverables.
- Contribute to projects and business-as-usual activities within your assigned rotation.
- Learn and apply foundational risk management concepts.
- Identify, assess, monitor, escalate, and report risks or issues.
- Support risk-based frameworks, processes, controls, reporting, governance routines, or continuous-improvement activities.
- Prepare accurate documentation, analysis, presentations, meeting materials, or reporting.
- Manage priorities, meet commitments, incorporate feedback, and maintain accountability for work quality.
- Participate in networking, professional development, and program activities.
What you'll need#
- Pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Risk Management, Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related quantitative, business, technology, or governance discipline.
- Graduation date between December 2027 and June 2028.
- 3.0 or higher GPA preferred.
- Strong analytical, critical-thinking, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Ability to communicate information clearly and concisely.
- Intellectual curiosity and interest in risk, controls, governance, data, technology, regulation, and business strategy.
- High attention to detail, integrity, discretion, and respect for confidential information.
- Strong initiative, adaptability, learning agility, and personal accountability.
- Ability to collaborate effectively and build productive working relationships.
- Demonstrated leadership or engagement through academic, campus, community, military, volunteer, or work experience.
- Ability to work for the full 10-week internship period.
