Bilingual Child and Adolescent Therapist Intern

About the role#

The Bilingual Child and Adolescent Therapist Intern will provide individual, family, and group psychotherapy and case management to clients ages 6 to 25. This role involves delivering person-centered, strengths-based, and trauma-informed services using a harm reduction approach. Work is performed both in-person at the Edgebrook clinic in Chicago and via telehealth.

What you'll do#

• Provide comprehensive bio-psychosocial assessment services to youth, young adults, and their families.
• Develop individualized treatment plans in collaboration with clients, their providers, and natural supports.
• Deliver clinical services to individuals diagnosed with mental health and substance use disorders.
• Co-facilitate group therapy sessions alongside a program therapist.
• Advocate for clients by linking them to community services and assessing their medical, social, and environmental needs.
• Maintain documentation and clinical charts in compliance with Medicaid, CARF, and agency standards.
• Attend regular individual supervision, group consultations, and team meetings.

What you'll need#

• Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, Psychology, or Counseling.
• Fluency in Spanish is required.
• Experience working with youth, young adults, and their families.
• Availability to work evenings.
• Availability to attend weekly Team Meetings and Group Consultation on Tuesday mornings and biweekly Bilingual Intern Clinical Consultation on Monday mornings.
• Ability to pass the IM+CANS exam within one month of the start date.

• Location: Chicago, Illinois (Edgebrook neighborhood).
• Term: Fall 2026 (August 2026 through May 2027).
• Modality: On-site and remote.
• Compensation: This is a paid internship with a $1,000 stipend provided through the Illinois Children's Healthcare Foundation and Trilogy's Chicago Youth Mental Wellness Project.
