Student Extern

About the role#

This Student Extern position provides direct service within a school-based psychological service intervention program. You will receive clinical training and supervision from licensed psychologists as part of the Community Outreach Program, supporting requirements for supervised training toward independent licensure.

What you'll do#

• Provide individual counseling, psychotherapy, and group counseling.
• Conduct classroom-based interventions and prevention services.
• Perform psychological and psycho-educational assessments and evaluations.
• Facilitate parent consultations and family counseling.
• Provide consultation and support to teachers, school administrators, and personnel.
• Coordinate referrals and services with community agencies.
• Assist clinical staff and the program director with administrative duties, program development, and evaluation.

What you'll need#

• Current pursuit of a Doctorate Degree in Psychology.
• Knowledge of psychosocial assessment and the diagnosis of psychological conditions.
• Up to 1 year of experience with the administration, scoring, and basic interpretation of individual tests, including intelligence, achievement, and personality assessments.
• Ability to relate effectively to children and adolescents.
• Strong professional attitude, demeanor, and collaborative, team-oriented approach.
• Basic interviewing and counseling skills.

• Location: Cincinnati, Ohio.
• Schedule: Part-time (10 hours weekly), temporary, day shift.
• Work Modality: On-site.
• Note: This position does not include weekend or holiday hours.
