Human Resources Intern

About the role#

Treasure Island Resort & Casino is seeking a Human Resources Intern to provide administrative support while gaining professional experience. This role focuses on assisting the department with daily operations, special projects, and the hiring and termination process. Interns will also support property needs by working at 3 to 5 special events, such as concerts, parades, and festivals.

What you'll do#

• Perform day-to-day tasks to support the department and meet business needs.
• Complete special projects tailored to internship requirements.
• Assist with the hiring and termination process.
• Provide accurate and consistent support across the department.
• Work at special events including parades, concerts, fairs, and festivals.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment in a 2 or 4-year post-secondary program in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, or a related field.
• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
• Previous guest service experience is preferred.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to adapt to changing priorities.
• High attention to detail and accuracy.
• Excellent verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to work efficiently, manage multiple tasks independently, and solve problems.
• Ability to maintain a professional demeanor when interacting with guests and coworkers.

Location & details#

• Location: Welch, Minnesota.
• Modality: On-site.
• Pay: $14.25 per hour.
• Schedule: Must be willing to work a flexible schedule, including all shifts, weekends, and holidays.
• Physical requirements: Ability to stand or walk for long periods, lift up to 25 pounds, and perform tasks involving bending, kneeling, or stooping. The work environment includes indoor and outdoor areas with loud noises, flashing lights, and cigarette smoke.
