Community Engagement Intern

About the role#

The Community Engagement Intern supports the daily operations of the department while gaining professional experience. This role focuses on representing Treasure Island Resort & Casino and the Island Impact program at various community and special events. Interns will assist with volunteer coordination, manage donation logistics, and complete a research project to present to department leadership.

What you'll do#

• Support day-to-day business needs while fulfilling internship requirements.
• Represent the company and Island Impact at community events, including golf tournaments, fairs, local sporting events, parades, and concerts.
• Collaborate with the Community Engagement team to plan and execute volunteer events for team members.
• Facilitate the logistics of the digital in-kind donation program, including delivery coordination.
• Conduct research on industry trends and opportunities, culminating in a final presentation to department leadership.
• Complete special projects as assigned to ensure department objectives are met.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment in a 2 or 4-year post-secondary program in Business Administration, Communications, Public Health, Marketing, or Human Resources.
• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
• Previous guest service experience is preferred.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to adapt to changing priorities.
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Excellent verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to work efficiently, solve problems, and manage multiple tasks independently.
• Ability to stand or walk for long periods, lift up to 25 pounds, and perform repetitive hand motions.

• Location: Welch, Minnesota.
• Modality: On-site.
• Schedule: This is a full-time, rolling internship. Candidates must be willing to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays, and various shifts.
• Environment: Work takes place both indoors and outdoors in a high-volume environment that may include loud noises, flashing lights, and exposure to cigarette smoke.
