About the role#
Travel Alberta is offering a six-month rotational internship program based in Calgary. This role provides exposure to the core disciplines that drive the provincial visitor economy. You will rotate through Brand and Content, Integrated Marketing, Travel Trade and International Markets, and Media and Public Relations teams. The program includes guided learning, project assignments, and mentorship to build your professional skills in communication, project coordination, and industry relationship management.
What you'll do#
- Participate in a structured six-month rotational learning program.
- Support brand and content development, including content audits and planning.
- Assist with integrated marketing campaign planning and reporting.
- Support travel trade and international market research and partner meetings.
- Contribute to media and public relations research and the preparation of briefing materials.
- Build knowledge of Alberta's tourism industry through events and stakeholder engagement.
- Maintain a learning portfolio of assignments and reflections.
- Present key learnings and outcomes to host teams and mentors.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in or recent graduation from a post-secondary program in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Tourism Management, Business, Hospitality, Commerce, or a related discipline.
- Demonstrated interest in tourism, destination marketing, communications, public relations, or economic development.
- Experience gained through coursework, volunteer activities, student organizations, or part-time employment is an asset.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and digital collaboration tools.
- Ability to learn new concepts and adapt to changing priorities.
