    About the role#

    This position helps improve the safety, quality, delivery, and cost of our operations. You will apply engineering and lean manufacturing principles to support our factory goals. Success in this role relies on clear communication, initiative, and teamwork.

    What you'll do#

    • Evaluate manufacturing processes, systems, and equipment to improve cost, time, safety, and quality.
    • Analyze time studies, methods, and plant layouts to identify and fix process gaps.
    • Troubleshoot production issues as they arise.
    • Take part in kaizen events for continuous improvement projects.
    • Help implement engineering changes across factory processes.
    • Design and coordinate the build of welding tools and fixtures to boost efficiency.

    What you'll need#

    • You are currently pursuing a degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing, Agricultural, or a related engineering field.
    • You have reached at least sophomore status in your program.
    • Experience or education in CAD software, with SolidWorks preferred.
    • Strong communication skills to work with both factory operators and office personnel.
    • Knowledge of design techniques and principles for creating precision technical plans, blueprints, and drawings.
    • A solid understanding of engineering science and technology applications.
    • The ability to analyze product requirements to design effective tools and fixtures.

    Location & details#

    • This position is based on-site in West Fargo, North Dakota.
    • This is a paid, part-time co-op role.
    • You will work in factory areas where you may be exposed to dust, fumes, moving machinery, and varying temperatures. The role requires the ability to stand, walk, reach, and occasionally lift up to 20 pounds.
