About the role#
Tower Research Ventures is the venture arm of Tower Research Capital. We build and invest in new companies. As an intern, you will work on early-stage product development, helping to turn ideas into prototypes and technical infrastructure. This is a part-time position requiring 20 hours per week.
What you'll do#
- Build early features, prototypes, and technical infrastructure for new products.
- Research and benchmark technologies to help shape the engineering roadmap.
- Assess whether product features are technically feasible and scalable.
- Work with cross-functional teams across engineering and venture incubations.
- Join in on code reviews, system architecture planning, and technical discussions.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a degree program for Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related quantitative field. A Master’s degree is preferred, or a Bachelor’s degree with equivalent experience.
- Strong programming foundation with experience in backend development, software architecture, or AI/ML.
- Proficiency in Python, Linux, SQL, Git, and Bash scripting.
- Full-stack development experience using TypeScript and Next.js.
- Experience with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and MLOps for model deployment automation.
- Expertise in at least one applied AI area, such as Computer Vision, Language Modeling, Reinforcement Learning, or Generative Modeling.
- Experience with applied AI engineering, including third-party APIs like OpenAI or Anthropic and the Vercel AI SDK.
- Ability to work with messy, incomplete datasets and build data preprocessing pipelines.
- Strong communication skills.
