About the role#
This internship offers a hands-on learning experience for students interested in the architecture field. You will work alongside Architects, Interior Designers, and Landscape Architects on projects across educational, governmental, corporate, and industrial sectors. The program includes formal software training, networking events, mentorship, and learning seminars.
What you'll do#
- Assist in preparing construction documents and specifications.
- Use AutoCAD and Revit to support project lifecycles from schematic design to construction.
- Collaborate with Civil, Electrical, Mechanical, and Structural engineering professionals to understand how different disciplines support project success.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a BSArch or MArch degree program.
- Training or experience with AutoCAD and Revit.
- Proficiency in MS Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Knowledge of construction methods, plan reading, and documentation preparation is preferred.
- Experience with Lumion, Sketchup, or Adobe Suite is a plus.
- A degree emphasis on Environmental Design or previous architecture firm internship experience is beneficial.
Location & details#
- Location: Bloomington, Minnesota.
- Term: Summer 2027 (May 25 through August 13).
- Commitment: Full-time (40 hours per week).
- Modality: Primarily on-site with occasional opportunities for hybrid work arrangements.
- Compensation: Paid position (20-24 USD per hour).
- Note: Out-of-state students may be eligible for housing assistance.
