About the role#
As a Civil Design Intern at Thomas & Hutton, you will support land-development projects in the Jacksonville office. This role offers hands-on experience in civil engineering while working alongside mentors. You will contribute to projects that shape local communities.
What you'll do#
- Prepare site-development plans for residential, commercial, and industrial projects.
- Design water, sewer, and storm-drainage layouts and construction drawings.
- Help prepare permit packages and coordinate with regulatory agencies.
- Work with project managers, engineers, and design teams on daily tasks.
- Support modeling and drafting efforts using AutoCAD Civil 3D.
- Assist with project documentation to maintain scope, schedule, and quality goals.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
- Interest in land development and site design.
- Basic knowledge of AutoCAD, with preference for Civil 3D exposure.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Attention to detail and organizational ability.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks.
- Willingness to learn and work in a team setting.
