About the role#
This Project Engineering Co-op position is part of a program designed to build a pipeline for future leadership talent. You will work on-site in Whitby, Ontario, supporting the engineering department through various technical and administrative projects.
What you'll do#
- Manage small projects within the department, including the development of project plans and schedules.
- Create and execute Installation and Qualification Protocols.
- Participate in equipment commissioning, start-up, and test trials.
- Track Operational Excellence savings and project costs.
- Research and propose ideas to improve production efficiency.
- Troubleshoot technical issues and support department engineers.
- Organize engineering drawings and establish an engineering document library.
- Maintain a safe working environment.
What you'll need#
- Current undergraduate student pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Electrical, Industrial, or Mechanical Engineering with an expected graduation date between December 2027 and June 2029.
- Previous related co-op, internship, or work experience is preferred.
- Proven leadership experience through campus programs, athletics, volunteer work, or other organizations.
- Ability to influence others, drive results, and navigate changing priorities.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to ambiguous situations.
- Resilience when facing setbacks or competing priorities.
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills and emotional intelligence.
- Geographic mobility and flexibility.
- Legal authorization to work in Canada without the need for sponsorship.
Location & details#
- Location: Whitby, Ontario, Canada.
- Modality: Full-time, on-site.
- Pay: $24.00 - $25.00 per hour, depending on academic year.
- Term: Rolling.
