CG Generalist Intern, Disney Animation - Winter 2026

About the role#

This internship program offers an introduction to the craft, technology, and operations behind animated films. Interns work within a collaborative team environment, contributing to projects while receiving individualized mentorship from artists, technologists, and production leaders. This position is part of the DigiBC Work Placement Program.

What you'll do#

• Gain exposure to various departments within the animation pipeline.
• Participate in hands-on projects guided by industry professionals.
• Explore core disciplines including Animation, Character TD, Crowds, Effects, Layout, Lighting, Modeling, Set Extension, and Texturing/Surfacing.
• Learn the filmmaking process and contribute to collaborative team efforts.

What you'll need#

• Working knowledge or understanding of software such as Maya, Houdini, Blender, ZBrush, Nuke, or Photoshop.
• A strong eye for visual appeal.
• Proficiency in scripting.
• Enrollment in a post-secondary educational program, or graduation within six months of the program start date.
• A background in art, animation, or filmmaking is considered an asset.
• Familiarity with Linux systems is considered an asset.

• Location: Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.
• Term: Winter 2026.
• Modality: On-site, full-time.
• Compensation: C$25.00 per hour, with select benefits provided.
• Eligibility: This position is open to students registered at ACE-WIL accredited public post-secondary institutions who reside in British Columbia and are Canadian Citizens, Permanent Residents, or Protected Persons.
