Intern, Communications

About the role#

The Communications Intern will support the department during the Fall 2026 semester. This is a part-time position requiring 20-24 hours per week, running from September 8, 2026, to December 11, 2026. The role is paid at the applicable county or state minimum wage based on the work location. Candidates must be able to maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all tasks.

What you'll do#

• Draft press materials in adherence to brand guidelines and perform copy editing.
• Pitch genre-specific media and provide necessary assets to writers.
• Generate media lists for specific projects and track press coverage to create reports.
• Conduct market research and develop story angles and content ideas.
• Coordinate event production paperwork and project trackers.
• Support on-site events, including press conferences, red carpet events, and media rooms.
• Perform physical tasks as required, including lifting up to 60 pounds and standing or walking for long periods.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment as a junior, senior, or graduate student in a Communications, Journalism, or Public Relations program.
• A letter from your school confirming eligibility for college credit.
• Strong verbal, written, and analytical communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs.
• Ability to multitask, maintain attention to detail, and work effectively as a team member.
