Product Management Intern

About the role#

Product managers at The Philadelphia Inquirer work to improve Inquirer.com and mobile applications, focusing on building a sustainable future for local journalism. As a product management intern, you will collaborate with product, design, and engineering teams to gather research, coordinate with stakeholders, and map desired outcomes. This is a paid, full-time, 9-week internship.

What you'll do#

• Participate in team rituals, including standups, prioritization, and refinement meetings.
• Learn the outcomes-driven product process used by The Inquirer.
• Gain familiarity with the company's portfolio of digital products.
• Partner with product managers to identify and complete a specific project, such as a competitive analysis or a new product feature.
• Present a final capstone project summarizing your experience and key takeaways.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment at an accredited college or university.
• Status as a rising junior, senior, recent graduate, or current graduate student.
• Academic focus in journalism, communications, or a related field.
• Strong communication, creative problem-solving, and collaborative skills.
• A belief in the value of local journalism and a desire to support the mission of serving the diverse communities of the Philadelphia region.
