About the role#
The Consumer Marketing Intern will support the Consumer Marketing team at The Philadelphia Inquirer. This role focuses on audience development, subscriber acquisition, and engagement strategies. This is a full-time, paid 9-week internship running from June through August 2026.
What you'll do#
- Support marketing plans for special editorial projects, including brainstorming, tactical execution, and tracking project objectives and KPIs.
- Report on marketing project goals and analyze performance across various platforms.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to execute projects on the Consumer Marketing roadmap.
- Work on initiatives designed to drive revenue through paid subscriptions and individual donations.
- Partner with marketing managers on SEM and paid social campaigns focused on traffic, lead generation, and retention.
- Manage administrative tasks including marketing calendar updates, invoice processing, and trafficking creative assets.
- Conduct quality assurance reviews for email sends and on-site sales.
- Complete a final capstone project summarizing key takeaways and experiences.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment at an accredited college or university, specifically rising juniors or seniors studying journalism, communications, marketing, business, or a related field.
- Recent graduates or current graduate students with relevant hands-on experience are also eligible.
- A foundational understanding of digital marketing strategy, tactics, and media mix.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Proficiency in interpreting data to identify opportunities and solve problems.
- Strong communication skills to maintain a collaborative work environment.
