About the role#
This is a full-time, paid internship based in Oxnard, California. You will work within the logistics department to support shipping, receiving, and quality control operations. The role requires on-site attendance for the duration of the term, which runs from late March through the end of August 2027. You will collaborate with management, maintenance, and quality control teams to meet production and shipping goals.
What you'll do#
- Ensure proper product rotation and maintain communication with carrier offices and cold storage facilities.
- Conduct vehicle inspections for cleanliness and safety before loading or unloading trucks and railcars.
- Verify that shipping paperwork is accurate and matches handheld scanner results.
- Inspect pallets and incoming raw materials to ensure they meet quality specifications.
- Investigate and document accidents thoroughly and promptly.
- Direct shipping and receiving activities to maintain cost and quality standards.
- Coordinate with forklift drivers and floor personnel to keep shipping schedules on time.
- Assist with inventory counts and provide scheduling suggestions to supervisors.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a 4-year degree program, specifically in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or Operations Management.
- Ability to read, write, and speak Spanish.
- Availability to work from late March through the end of August.
- Flexibility to work weekends, night shifts, and overtime as needed.
- Ability to operate a forklift in compliance with OSHA regulations.
