About the role#
The Hershey Company offers a Chemical Engineering Co-Op position at the West Hershey Plant. This is a hands-on role in an industrial manufacturing environment. You will work alongside experienced engineers to complete tasks similar to those of an entry-level, full-time engineer. You will collaborate with teams across production, maintenance, and quality assurance to support milk chocolate processing equipment.
What you'll do#
- Investigate and troubleshoot equipment and process problems.
- Design and optimize manufacturing processes.
- Prepare project documentation, including engineering calculations and process flow diagrams.
- Develop scopes of work, functional specifications, and cost estimates.
- Coordinate equipment installations and startups.
- Manage projects by purchasing components and implementing plans.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Chemical Engineering degree program.
- Completion of your sophomore year with a minimum 2.8 GPA.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools like Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams.
- Eligibility to work in the United States for any employer.
- A valid driver license and reliable transportation.
- Knowledge of AutoCAD and SAP is helpful but not required.
Location & details#
- Location: Hershey, Pennsylvania.
- Work Modality: On-site at the West Hershey Plant.
- Term: Fall 2026. A minimum of two terms is required.
- Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours per week. Occasional long days or weekend work may be required.
- Compensation: This is a paid position.
