About the role#
The Dutra Group is hiring a Field Engineer Intern to provide support to our construction staff. You will work under the supervision of a Project Manager to assist with daily operations, project documentation, and site activities. This is a paid, full-time internship based in Petaluma, California.
What you'll do#
- Assist the Project Manager with daily tasks and project coordination.
- Create, manage, and track RFIs, submittals, shop drawings, and samples.
- Help develop cost estimates and monitor overall project costs.
- Assist with obtaining local jurisdiction permits for various projects.
- Support the team with safety documentation, quality control management, and general purchase orders.
- Document weekly project meetings and field decisions.
- Help distribute project schedules and assist with project closeout activities.
What you'll need#
- You must be an upper division student currently enrolled in a four-year college or university.
- Your major should be in Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, Biology, Natural Resource Management, Ecological Restoration, Hydrology, Geomorphology, Landscape Architecture, Conservation Biology, or Construction Management.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills are required.
- You must have experience using Excel.
- The ability to solve practical problems and interpret various types of instructions is essential.

- Location: Petaluma, California.
- Modality: On-site.
- Pay: $26.00 per hour.
- Schedule: Full-time, rolling term.
- Note: This role requires frequent site inspections, which may involve exposure to various weather conditions and construction environments.
