About the role#
The Marine Construction Field Engineer Intern role offers an opportunity to learn construction means, methods, and management skills. You will work on-site to gain practical experience in the marine construction industry.
What you'll do#
- Track and report daily quantities for labor and materials.
- Provide technical engineering information and interpret plans, detail sheets, and specifications.
- Review shop drawings and submittals for contract conformance.
- Update submittal and RFI logs.
- Prepare daily reports and maintain project job costing.
- Assist with project document control and schedule updates.
- Enforce quality control and coordinate inspections with consultants.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as an upper division student in a four-year Civil Engineering or Construction Management program.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to solve practical problems and interpret instructions in various formats.
- Experience with Microsoft Excel.
- Ability to lift or move 25 to 50 pounds and perform site inspections in various weather conditions.
