About the role#
The College of Health Care Professions is seeking an Externship Coordinator for the LMRT program. This full-time, on-site role serves as a liaison between students, faculty, and medical partners to facilitate the transition from classroom learning to clinical experience. You will focus on building professional relationships and ensuring students have the necessary placements to succeed in their healthcare careers.
What you'll do#
- Recruit, develop, and maintain externship site partnerships within the medical community.
- Ensure sufficient placement opportunities for all students requiring externships.
- Work toward program goals, including a 40% extern-to-hire conversion rate.
- Organize and lead externship orientations for students.
- Monitor and maintain accurate documentation, including student evaluations, timecards, and surveys.
- Act as a liaison between students, faculty, and site supervisors through regular communication and site visits.
- Support student career readiness by assisting with resume building and interview preparation.
- Track student progress, counsel students on professionalism and attendance, and ensure completion of exit requirements.
- Maintain affiliation agreements and keep program data updated in internal systems.
What you'll need#
- High school diploma or GED.
- Completion of an LMRT program or certificate with at least 3 years of experience, or an Associate’s Degree in Radiologic Technology with at least 2 years of experience.
- Current ARRT, RT, or LMRT certification.
- Strong organizational, communication, and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet performance targets.
