About the role#
The College of Health Care Professions is hiring a full-time Externship Coordinator for the LMRT program in Dallas. You will act as a liaison between students, faculty, and medical partners to help students move from the classroom into clinical settings. Your work focuses on building partnerships and ensuring students have the placements they need to start their healthcare careers.
What you'll do#
- Build and maintain partnerships with medical sites to create externship opportunities.
- Ensure every student has a placement and work toward a 40% extern-to-hire conversion rate.
- Manage documentation like timecards, evaluations, and student surveys.
- Lead externship orientations and provide guidance on resumes and interview preparation.
- Conduct weekly site visits and keep in contact with site supervisors.
- Track student progress and maintain records in the campus database.
- Counsel students on professional expectations, attendance, and program requirements.
What you'll need#
- A high school diploma or GED.
- Completion of an LMRT program or certificate with at least 3 years of experience, or an Associate’s Degree in Radiologic Technology with at least 2 years of experience.
- Current certifications in ARRT, RT, or LMRT.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet performance goals.
- Relevant majors include Health Administration, Nursing, Biomedical Sciences, and Public Health.
