The Externship Coordinator for the LMRT program serves as a liaison between students, faculty, and healthcare partners. This role focuses on facilitating the transition from classroom learning to clinical experience by securing externship placements and supporting student career readiness.
What you'll do#
- Recruit, develop, and maintain externship site partnerships within the medical community to ensure sufficient placement opportunities for all students.
- Achieve program goals, including a 40% extern-to-hire conversion rate.
- Organize and lead externship orientations and provide career readiness support, including resume building and interview preparation.
- Monitor and maintain accurate documentation, such as student evaluations, timecards, and surveys.
- Conduct site visits and maintain consistent communication with site supervisors to ensure program compliance and student success.
- Counsel students on professional expectations, attendance, and program requirements.
What you'll need#
- High school diploma or GED.
- Completion of an LMRT Program or Certificate with at least 3 years of experience, or an Associate’s Degree in Radiologic Technology with at least 2 years of experience.
- Required certifications: ARRT, RT, or LMRT.
- Strong organizational, communication, and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet performance targets.
