Paid Intern - YA Weekly Writer/Editor (Church Magazines)

About the role#

The Church magazines are seeking a Paid Intern to join the YA Weekly team for the Fall 2026 term. This is a full-time, 40-hour-per-week position based in Salt Lake City. The role focuses on creating and managing content tailored to a global young adult audience, providing hands-on experience in religious publishing and digital media.

What you'll do#

• Plan and create content for a global young adult audience.
• Review and edit submissions and manuscripts.
• Write original articles and collaborate with authors.
• Interview young adults and contribute to social media strategy.
• Participate in staff meetings to discuss and develop monthly themes.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment as a full-time student or graduation within the last year.
• Preferred background in Journalism, Communications, or English, particularly with an editing or writing emphasis.
• At least one semester of college-level editing or writing experience.
• Strong proficiency in writing, revising, copyediting, and proofreading.
• Understanding of digital publishing, SEO practices, and digital marketing.
• A sound understanding of Church doctrine, history, organization, and policy.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with high attention to detail.
• Professionalism and the ability to work effectively with others.
• Membership in the Church and worthiness of a temple recommend.
