Intern - Data Privacy Analyst (FamilySearch)

About the role#

This entry-level internship focuses on the intersection of data privacy and family history research. You will gain experience in navigating the complexity of national and international privacy laws as they apply to historical records. The role involves monitoring compliance, systematizing requirements for policies, and developing project tracking tools to support the publication of family history data.

What you'll do#

• Apply statutory rules to ensure family history record publication complies with applicable national and international laws and regulations.
• Review and analyze large datasets using intermediate to advanced Excel skills.
• Identify issues within large data sets and ensure work is completed to high standards.
• Research and analyze data to uncover patterns and stories within records.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment in an accredited university or graduation within the past 12 months, with a focus on Data Science, Computer Science, or Statistics.
• Strong understanding of the various types of records used in family history research and their content.
• Keen interest in learning legal language and statutory or regulatory nuances.
• Exceptional attention to detail and a strong sense of responsibility.
• Ability to maintain a positive attitude when faced with changes and a commitment to continuous learning.
• Note: Employment is restricted to members of the Church who are worthy of a temple recommend.
