About the role#

This internship within the Family Services organization supports Church leaders in caring for individuals facing social and emotional challenges. The role focuses on providing direct counseling services and consultation that remain in harmony with gospel principles. You will work under close supervision to assist clients and ecclesiastical leaders with various concerns, including mental disorders, family relationship problems, and crisis situations, while maintaining strict confidentiality and legal compliance.

What you'll do#

• Provide clinical care under close supervision.
• Offer consultation and maintain a positive rapport with Church leaders.
• Maintain accurate and updated notes within the data collection system.
• Ensure a clean, safe, and well-organized work area.

What you'll need#

• Enrollment as a 2nd-year master's degree student in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Counseling Psychology, or a closely related field.
• Knowledge of legal issues within the counseling profession.
• Ability to communicate sensitive subject matter professionally with clients and ecclesiastical leaders.
• Proven written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to provide service within gospel standards and values, including maintaining exacting standards of moral conduct.
• Ability to develop and follow through with an individual training plan for professional development.
• Professional appearance and attitude.
• Must be a member of the Church who is worthy of a temple recommend.
