About the role#
The Publishing Services Department manages music content for the Church across print, web, mobile, and streaming channels in over 100 languages. This internship focuses on the technical aspects of music publishing, specifically assisting in the migration of language files from Finale to Dorico. You will support the preservation of sheet music assets and contribute to the development of the new Hymns collection.
What you'll do#
- Design and maintain sheet music assets across all approved languages.
- Execute the transition of language files from Finale to Dorico.
- Navigate the complexities of the music publishing process to support multi-channel production.
- Work within multilevel approval structures to ensure music quality standards are met.
- Collaborate with a hybrid team while maintaining individual responsibility for assigned tasks.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a degree in music, music education, music production, or a related field.
- A professional portfolio demonstrating experience in music engraving.
- Fluency in music notation software such as Dorico, Finale, or Sibelius.
- A basic understanding of MusicXML markup language and music engraving principles.
- Familiarity with the relationship between foreign language publishing and musical rhythm or meter.
- Proficiency in the Microsoft suite and experience with database organization.
- Ability to write clearly in English.
- Submission of 1-2 work samples showcasing professional music engraving.

- This position is based in Salt Lake City, Utah.
- The role operates on a hybrid schedule with some in-office days required.
- This is a paid, full-time internship.
