About the role#
This internship within the Family Services organization supports Church leaders in assisting individuals with social and emotional challenges. The role focuses on providing direct counseling services and professional consultation while ensuring all resources provided remain in harmony with gospel principles. You will work in an environment that requires strict adherence to confidentiality, legal compliance, and professional standards of practice.
What you'll do#
- Provide clinical care to clients under close supervision.
- Offer consultation and maintain positive rapport with Church leaders.
- Document client interactions by maintaining accurate, updated notes in the data collection system.
- Ensure the work area remains clean, safe, and well-organized.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a 2nd-year master's degree student in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Counseling Psychology, or a closely related field.
- Knowledge of legal issues relevant to the counseling profession.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to discuss sensitive subject matter professionally.
- Ability to maintain exacting standards of moral conduct and adhere to gospel standards and values.
- Ability to develop and follow an individual training plan for professional development.
- Professional appearance and attitude.
- Membership in the Church and worthiness to hold a temple recommend.
