About the role#
This internship within the Family Services organization supports Church leaders in caring for individuals facing social and emotional challenges. The role focuses on providing counseling services and consultations that align with gospel principles. Interns work in an environment requiring strict adherence to confidentiality, professional standards, and legal compliance.
What you'll do#
- Provide clinical care to clients under close supervision.
- Consult with and maintain a positive rapport with Church leaders.
- Document client interactions by maintaining accurate, updated notes in the data collection system.
- Ensure the work area remains clean, safe, and organized.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a 2nd-year master's degree student in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Counseling Psychology, or a related field.
- Ability to maintain exacting standards of moral conduct and provide service consistent with gospel values.
- Knowledge of legal issues relevant to the counseling profession.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to discuss sensitive subject matter professionally.
- Ability to develop and execute an individual training plan for professional development.
- Professional appearance and attitude.
- Eligibility: Applicants must be members of the Church who are worthy of a temple recommend.
