About the role#
This internship within the Family Services organization supports Church leaders in caring for individuals facing social and emotional challenges. The role focuses on providing direct counseling services and consultation, ensuring all resources and support remain in harmony with gospel principles. Interns work in an environment that demands strict confidentiality, legal compliance, and adherence to professional standards.
What you'll do#
- Provide clinical care under close supervision.
- Consult with and maintain a positive rapport with Church leaders.
- Maintain accurate and updated clinical notes within the data collection system.
- Ensure a clean, safe, and well-organized work environment.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a 2nd-year master's degree student in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Counseling Psychology, or a related field.
- Knowledge of legal issues relevant to the counseling profession.
- Ability to communicate sensitive subject matter professionally with clients and leaders.
- Proven written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to maintain exacting standards of moral conduct and provide service consistent with gospel values.
- Membership in the Church and eligibility for a temple recommend.
