About the role#
This internship position is within the Family Services organization. The role focuses on assisting Church leaders in supporting individuals facing social and emotional challenges by providing resources that align with gospel principles. You will provide direct counseling services and consultation under close supervision while maintaining strict confidentiality and professional standards.
What you'll do#
- Provide clinical care under close supervision.
- Consult with and maintain positive rapport with Church leaders.
- Document accurate and updated notes within the data collection system.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and well-organized work area.
- Assist clients and leaders with issues including mental disorders, family relationship problems, and other social and emotional challenges.
What you'll need#
- Must be a 2nd-year master's degree student in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Counseling Psychology, or a closely related field.
- Ability to maintain exacting standards of moral conduct and provide service within gospel standards and values.
- Knowledge of legal issues within the profession.
- Proven written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate sensitive subject matter professionally.
- Ability to develop and follow through with an individual training plan for professional development.
- Professional appearance and attitude.
- Must be a member of the Church who is worthy of a temple recommend.
