About the role#
This internship is within the Family Services organization, supporting Church leaders in caring for individuals facing social and emotional challenges. The role focuses on providing counseling services and consultations that align with gospel principles. You will work in an environment requiring strict adherence to confidentiality, legal standards, and professional policies while assisting with diverse issues such as mental disorders, family relationship problems, and crisis situations.
What you'll do#
- Provide clinical care under close supervision.
- Offer consultation and maintain positive relationships with Church leaders.
- Document accurate, updated notes in the data collection system.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment as a 2nd-year master's student in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Counseling Psychology, or a closely related field.
- Ability to maintain exacting standards of moral conduct and provide service within gospel standards and values.
- Knowledge of legal issues relevant to the counseling profession.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to discuss sensitive subjects professionally.
- Professional appearance and a commitment to ongoing professional development.
- Membership in the Church and eligibility for a temple recommend.
